Word Choice: Kind Regards or Best Regards?

When to Use Kind Regards

When you end a letter or email with kind regards, it shows politeness and respect to the recipient. Your regard for someone means your wishes or thoughts toward them, so writing kind regards shows that you think highly of this person and wish them well.

Kind regards is a semiformal sign-off, so you would use it for people that you don’t have an established relationship with. This could be anybody that you’re writing to for the first time, especially if they didn’t contact you first.
