We are committed to hiring editors based on merit and have zero tolerance for discrimination. However, Proofed is headquartered in the United States and must adhere to federal tax treaty laws. If your country of primary residence does not have a tax treaty with the United States, we are unable to onboard you to the editing team.
If life as a freelance editor with Proofed interests you, please make sure that your country of primary residence is listed in the table below. If you can’t find your country in the table, you can still hone your proofreading and editing skills with one of Knowadays’ courses. However, we won’t be able to onboard you to the editing team at Proofed.
We pay all our editors via Wise. For currencies not supported on Wise we will default to USD. We’re not able to advise editors on individual circumstances. If you need more support, you should consult with an accountant. Additionally, we verify the identify of our editors via Stripe ID Verification, therefore we are not able to support every country that may have dual tax treaty with the United States.
